Who attended?
We welcomed all those with a professional interest in dyslexia and SpLD. From specialist teachers, SENCos, learning support staff and teaching assistants to educational psychologists. Dyslexia Guild members enjoyed a preferential rate.
Why in partnership with the Infinitus EU project
In current educational settings it is important for all staff to understand the process that leads to assessment and diagnosis. Understanding the way in which assessment tests are developed and used in the context of dyslexia and SpLD can assist you in your support of people with special education needs and ensure that they have the resources they need to progress.
This conference looked at some of the specific challenges in the development of assessment and current research in this field. Why do we undertake diagnostic assessment; what leads to the development of assessment; and is it fit for purpose; are all questions that will be explored during the day.
What was included in the conference?
You would have heard about current research and benefited from taking time out of your daily schedule to learn, debate and reflect on cutting-edge practice. There was a warm welcome from our friendly Dyslexia Action staff, meeting researches and exhibitors and enjoy a networking lunch. An attendance certificate was provided for attendees Continuing Professional Development portfolio.
