A2OM11: Alpha to Omega: The Hornsby Course in Dyslexia and Literacy May 2011

The Alpha to Omega (Hornsby) Open Access E-Learning Course in Dyslexia and Literacy is credit rated by the Open University as Level 4 (1st Year Undergraduate Level). This means that on successful completion of all units the Open University will permit up to 30 points at Undergraduate Level 1 (Level 4) to count towards the Open University BA/BSc degree.

Thank you for starting the application process for the Alpha to Omega: The Hornsby Course in Dyslexia and Literacy beginning on 3 May 2011. Please ensure that you have read closely the course description especially the sections about requirements and course workload.

The application process will proceed in several stages. Please read carefully before proceeding:

  1. When you click the 'Start Application' link below, you will be taken to an Initial Application screen asking you for some basic information about you that will enable us to start your application. Important: As part of the first page, you will be asked to create an account with a user name and password that you will need to complete your application. Please write this information down in a secure place to ensure you have smooth access your account with us in the future. You may be asked to log in to this account several times during the application process.
     
  2. After you submit your Initial Application, you will receive an email confirming receipt and containing a link to your Application Dashboard where you will be asked to complete additional, necessary information. Please make sure you enter a working email address as required and check your spam/junk mail folder if you feel you're not receiving email from us. You will not be able to submit your application to us until until all the necessary information on the Application Dashboard has been completed.
     
  3. After you have completed all the information on your Application Dashboard, you will be able to submit your application for review. Submitting your application for review means it will be sent to us and will first be reviewed for completeness by the Course Administrator who may contact you for additional details. The Early Bird discount only applies to applications that have completed this stage by the Early Bird deadline.
     
  4. After this, the application will be reviewed by the Course Director who will decide to accept or reject your application. If your application is accepted, you will receive a conditional offer asking you for additional information related to funding and your employer support. Your references will also be taken up. You may have to log in to the Application Dashboard again to provide additional details and you may be asked to submit some information by fax or post. Once the entire process has been satisfactorily completed, you will receive a final offer subject to your passing the CRB check.
