Using Morphology to Enhance Reading Comprehension
(A Structured Approach)
This online course is suitable for qualified specialist SpLD teachers who have been previously trained to use a multisensory literacy programme and who are looking to refresh and update their teaching practice.
The course has been developed to provide an in-depth and structured approach to the use of units of meaning to promote vocabulary and reading comprehension skills in learners in both individual and group teaching sessions.
Please note that this course does not train teachers as dyslexia/SpLD specialists or involve a teaching practicum. This training is covered in the Dyslexia Action Professional Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention (at Masters Level 7) and in the Dyslexia Action Certificate in Strategic Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy at Level 5. See www.dyslexiaaction.org.uk
This course is designed to offer a structured approach to promoting reading comprehension skills in learners. It looks at the use of meaning units (morphemes) to aid the comprehension of longer words. It will also support spelling skills in polysyllabic words. Suitable for practitioners working one to one or with groups.
Please check you meet the entry requirements BEFORE proceeding with your registration.
