Dyslexia Action's Continuing Professional Development Level 4 and 5 online courses have been designed specifically for:
- Classroom Teachers
- Teaching Assistants
- Tutors working with those under the age of 18
who are UK residents (or normally resident in the UK) with recent and relevant experience of working in a learning environment.
Course details are being finalised for those working with adults (aged 16+) and those working in English speaking schools overseas. Please follow the links at the right hand side of this page to the Adults course page or the International participants' Course.
Our CPD programme gives you the option to apply for:
- Individual units OR
- Awards of 2 or 3 units (offers a price reduction on units booked separately but the dates of each unit are set by us)
Successfully completed Units build into Awards which build into Certificates which build into a Diploma in Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy.
Unit study time is 20-30 hours over a period of 5-6 weeks and only the mathematical development unit (DACPD27) requires access to a learner
Awards (2 - 3 units) take between 4 and 6 months to achieve (with short breaks of approx 2 weeks between each unit)
Certificate qualifications (5 - 6 units making up 2 Awards) take approximately 13-15 months of study (with short breaks of approx 2 weeks between each unit.)
The Diploma in Teaching Support for Dyslexia and Literacy is the culmination of studying two Certificate qualifications plus successful completion of an 8 month, intensive Teaching Support course. It will take about 3 years to complete the full Diploma qualification and further details of the Teaching Support course will be available in the near future.
The CPD programme will start on 5 September 2012.
- Individual units will cost only £225
- a 2-unit award will cost £430 (offers a £20 saving on units booked separately)
- a 3-unit Award will cost £645 (offers a £30 saving on units booked separately)
Please note that registration does not automatically allow entry onto a course. Applications will be checked for suitability.
