Route One
If you are:
- a current holder of a specialist dyslexia qualification (Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent) gained within the last 5 years
- entitled to and holding Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA)
you are eligible for a Practising Certificate.
If you have AMBDA or equivalent but the qualification is more than 5 years old we will need to see evidence of additional qualifications or good practice. Please include with your application:
- Your CV
- A full DIAGNOSTIC assessment report written in the last 5 years and following DfES guidelines. Click here to view the guidelines. For updated information on recommended assessment tests please click here.
For all routes to achieving your Practising Certificate you need to become a member of the Dyslexia Guild and maintain the membership during the period for which your Practising Certificate is valid. If you are not already a member of the Dyslexia Guild you will be asked to join when you apply for your Practising Certificate. This is because your Practising Certificate can only be issued by membership organisations.
